Family Intervention & Empowerment
The Family Intervention and Empowerment Program contains an early childhood initiative component which focuses on nature vs. nurture, stages of children’s development, and safety issues. The program seeks to promote optimal learning and development of children through outreach and education.
FANM also has three additional support programs that focus on outreach, prevention, education and referrals which include:
1) Health Access, which targets the uninsured or under-insured. Its primary goal is to increase access to health care, which is considered a basic human right, through referrals, radio/community outreach and education. The goal is to ultimately improve the mental and physical health of community members.
2) Breast Health which seeks to prevent breast cancer through outreach and education, dissemination of information, cancer screenings and follow up to ensure access to available health services.
3) After-School Tutoring which provides homework assistance, nurturing, math and reading, FCAT prep, and character building through self- expression and sports.
