Youth Development and Leadership

Haiti TPS_SN149.jpeg

Our Youth Leadership Program builds the skills of our community youths to organize around immigration, climate change/climate gentrification, education, and equity issues. This program was developed for youths to become productive members of their community instead of joining advanced numbers of incarcerated Black and Hispanic youths.

Our youth leaders organized C-FAR (Children for Family Reunification) to shed light on the plight of 275,000 to 500,000 U.S. born children of 300,000 TPS recipients who could face deportation to nations in turmoil if a permanent solution is not found. Christina Ponthieux, the Chair  of C-FAR, is the daughter of TPS Recipients. FANM also developed the Children for a Sustainable Future Program (C-FSF) which powers our clean and renewable energy movement.
